Fired Arts Acadamy
The FIRED ARTS ACADAMY was introduced into Europe through BISQUE IMPORTS EUROPE.
Started in the USA by Helene and Gayla from THE STUDIO RESOURSE based in Washington.
This is a CERTIFIED COURSE and has three levels Bronze, Silver and Gold. As you complete the segments certificates are issed for you to display in your store. You also have access to an exclusive website that has lots of information and technique projects for you to use.
The Course is designed to take you through all aspects of FIRED ART this will include working with Ceramics, Warm Glass, Enamalling in fact anything to do with the use of your Kiln.
It also includes CLAY WORK, hand building with Clay and introducing new paint and painting techniques that will make your Clay Days just a one stop programme/
The use of a Microwave kiln will show you how to make spectacular Glass jewellery and other small items.
China painting, and working with Porcelain is also part of the course.
This course is recommended for people who already have a little experience working with Ceramics.
This course will help you broaden your range in a Ceramic Café or Paint your own Pottery Studio.
Venues that offer, Ceramics, Glass, Enamelling and Clay Works are going to be very busy having the attraction of several different hobbies all under one roof.
CERAMICS
Designing directly onto bisque also the use of adding on Tag-a-longs to your work.
Baby Hand and Footprints
Glaze carving, Scraffito, Stencilling, Banding Bubble Painting, Marbelling all necessary technique in your studio.
WARM GLASS
Working with Glass you can use your ordinary kiln as long as it has a Controller. Being able to design Suncatchers, beautiful Glass Bowls ect. You will learn how to fuse glass and also slump glass. Also with a Microwave Kiln you ban make stunning pieces of jewellery .
ENAMALLING
Using a small enamel Kiln you will be able to make wonderful jewellery items and also Badges, buttons ect.
CLAY WORKS
Learn how to hand build with clay, throw on a wheel and create beautiful sculptures. Clay works will bring the children back to your business time and time again.
Although we are based in FRANCE flights are cheap to Limoges from the UK when the kids are at school. Accomodation is also cheap in the area.

Our Managing Director Julia Grant is a Certified Duncan Ambassador and has been teaching the Duncan University Programme for 7 years in Europe. With 25 years experience in the Ceramic Industry she has an amazing amount of knowledge and technical advise to share with students
Duncan`s Educational programme is called Essentials and is run through the DUNCAN UNIVERSITY programme. This course is CERTIFIED and you would receive a certificate at the end of the course. Participants are required to complete all four Essential Classes to receive the DUNCAN CERTIFIED TEACHERS AWARD.
The coursework consists of four one day seminars, which are held from 9 till 4 each day and should be taken in sequence, although it is not mandatory. Essential Courses have been designed to introduce ceramics to a newcomer to the Industry as well as provide existing ceramists with up to date product information.
The cost of the course is 75.00 Euro per day. So the complete course would cost you 300.00 Euros. The course can be completed in 3 days but the hours per day would be longer from 9.00 am till 7.00pm. However the cost would still be 300.99 Euros/
The above fees include all Bisque, Greenware and Colour that is required to finish the Essentials Course.
Accommodation and Food can be provided if required by negotiation.

Essentials 1 EARTH, FIRE AND COLOUR
Earth, Fire and Colour is designed to introduce decorative ceramics from the earthen clay state to the fired piece. Students will create decorative low fire ceramic pieces, using Slip ceramic moulds and the kiln.
Essentials 2 SEASONAL COLOUR
Seasonal colour demonstrates designs inspired by European Traditional ceramic art.
Using the most traditional decorative paints in the Duncan fired colour family, you will experience Cover Coats and EZ stroke translucent underglazes.
Essentials 3 CLASSICAL COLOUR
This course explores primitive design elements, colour schemes and motif. Inspired by nature, a motif was the art of early man.
Classical Colour touches upon art from some of the most fascinating regions of the world, from the Incas in peru to design elements from Africa.
Explore the possibilities and take a trip back through time with Duncans most exotic glazes.
Essentials 4 ACRYLIC COLOUR
Discover the exciting world of Acrylic colour. This one day course will teach you a variety of techniques using non fired products, from acrylic brushstrokes, antiquing
And sealing with everything in between.
WE HOLD DUNCANS ESSENTIAL COURSES EVERY MONTH BUT WE ARE PREPARED TO WORK WITH YOU ONE ON ONE IF OUR TEACHING STAFF ARE AVAILABLE.
